| » Return to recent news August 13 2009 Australian SAGE delegates invade Europe Australian delegates were out in force at the recent IAHSA (international Association of Homes and Services for the Ageing) conference in London. The conference was part of the SAGE (Study and Advancing Global Eldercare) tour which just returned from visiting leading care facilities throughout the UK and parts of Europe. SAGE study tour leader Judy Martin (Business Development Manager at ThosmonAdsett) led the tour with Joint Group Managing Director David Lane and Group Chairman Chris Straw also attending. Tour leader Judy Martin has been running SAGE tours since 2003, and said that each tour presented new ideas and opportunities for learning. "One of my favourite parts of SAGE tours is when all the delegates collaborate together after each session. We have our own think tank sessions and talk about how all the ideas presented relate to the Australian context, and different ways they could be implemented back home." The SAGE tours are designed to take Australian aged care industry representatives and providers overseas and provide them with a forum for fostering and exchanging learning and cultural opportunities in the delivery of eldercare around the globe. ThosmonAdsett are now adept at running study tours, with more tours planned for the New Year visiting China, Hong Kong and New Zealand. SAGE tours are in partnership with ThomsonAdsett, the Aged Care Association of Australia (ACAA) and Aged & Community Services Australia (ACSA). |
