Chad’s passion for design has been applied to his over 10 years of experience in the architectural industry. During that time he has gained experience in areas ranging from Pre-Design Research to Construction Administration, working on a variety of projects including educational facilities, corporate headquarters, small and large churches, architectural homes, retail centres, aged care facilities, multi-residential, community halls, crematoriums, and urban visions.
Chad’s ability to utilise the power of 3D digital modelling in the early design stages enables clients to test and experience options at a very early stage. This same digital visualisation process presents opportunities sometimes lost in a more traditional approach, while empowering the client with the security of a known outcome.
Chad possesses extensive experience in designing for Green Star projects, having been the Project Architect for The Port Office, the first facility in Australia to receive a 5 Star Green Building Council of Australia Version 3 rating. He is currently the Design Architect for the 5 Star Engineering and Technology Centre in Nundah, and also fulfilled this role on the 5 Star Environmental Protection Agency Headquarters in Manly.
Chad has been a part of ThomsonAdsett since 1999, and he became a Principal of ThomsonAdsett in 2011.
Chad believes every project is an opportunity to enhance the experience of the people who inhabit it – be they workers, visitor, or residents. Good design must be more than just a practical resolution of the brief. It is about striving to bring magic into the spaces people occupy.
