Port Central 1 is the catalyst project for the Port of Brisbane Corporation’s new master planned office park at the mouth of the Brisbane River. The building program is 2 vertical office spaces divided by an internal / external space. The building folds and articulates to shelter the internal spaces. Natural light dominates internally as daylight floods in from both sides of every tenancy via the 3-storey atrium. The client’s brief for this commercial building was that environmentally sustainable design principles form the foundation of the design concept. Port Central 1 has achieved this goal with the award of a 5-star Green Star rating by the Green Building Council of Australia.
