The community centre serves as the civic/recreational hub of the township of Taroom, providing facilities for a wide range of public and private community functions. The main auditorium has a seating capacity of 330 people, and is served by a commercial kitchen and bar.
The facility replaces a 50-year-old community hall and is located directly adjacent to the council chambers. The building uses polished concrete block work, face brickwork and painted fibre-cement cladding on a steel and concrete structure.
