The focus was to provide a seamless public thoroughfare, emphasised in the design by a vertical circulation spine that features a vertical ramp, stairway and lift structure.
The integration of contemporary architectural style and minimalist material usage reinforce the visual aesthetic, open planning and provision of generous public circulation. Expression of the steel is a key element in the overall design of the building, particularly the exposed steel framing and columns, to the feature roofs and walkway awnings. Open air malls and circulation spines provide shaded circulation corridors eliminating the requirement of assisted mechanical ventilation to public areas. High level roof structures and awnings create abundant natural light and minimise the dependence on artificial lighting.
